Making The Most of Mineral Resources
Our four strategically located production plants and distribution hubs are close to major road and rail networks. One of our depots sits on a dockside and the others are all within easy reach of ports.
We supplement this capability with a national network of storage silos which provide a capacity of some 15,000 tonnes. These silos are remotely monitored by a web based software system that implements our Dynamic Distribution Service. This guarantees that not only our customers receive what they want when they want it but also our vehicles optimise fuel and driver resources. This enables Francis Flower to continue to provide cost effective goods and services at all times including those of escalating hydrocarbon prices.
Our logistics partner is CRW Powderline which, as part of the Tuners (Soham) transport giant, utilises the largest fleet of powder tankers in the UK. CRW is integrated fully into Francis Flower and staffs from both companies share our Customer Service Department building at our Head Office in Somerset.
Sea-borne transport can be arranged from any port in the UK. Francis Flower currently imports 30,000 tonnes of mineral and exports 15,000 tonnes of finished products and hence we can charter vessels and administer one off or rotine cargoes as required.
